Two men arrested in connection with the garda investigation into the explosion at a service station in Creeslough, Co Donegal have been released without charge.
Ten people lost their lives in the tragedy at the service station and apartment building on 7 October 2022.
The men, aged in their 50s, were arrested yesterday for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Gardaí have said that the investigation is ongoing with the intention of submitting a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Four men, three women and three young people, ranging in ages from five to 59, died in the blast.
Robert Garwe and his five-year-old daughter Shauna Flanagan Garwe, Catherine O’Donnell and her 13-year-old son James Monaghan, Jessica Gallagher, Martin McGill, James O’Flaherty, Martina Martin, Hugh Kelly and 14-year-old Leona Harper were all killed in the explosion.
It follows details of a renewal plan for the village being revealed at a public meeting on Thursday.
The plans were the result of numerous consultation sessions with local people and the bereaved families led by Donegal County Council, the Creeslough Community Association, and Arup Consultants, who acted pro bono.
The plan proposes a number of ways to enhance the local area, deal with dereliction and accessibility, as well as highlighting some climate actions.
However, the main project identified through the consultation process is a new community centre with sporting and many other facilities.
