Two men charged with murder of Kieran Quilligan

Two men have been charged with the murder of 47-year-old Kieran Quilligan.

Mr Quilligan had been missing from Cork city since 1 September last.

His skeletal remains were found on the road between Midleton and Whitegate in east Cork last Monday.

Niall Long, 31, of St Michael’s Close, Mahon in Cork, and 26-year-old Luke Taylor, of no fixed address, were brought before the District Court in Cork this morning.

They were charged with the murder of Mr Quilligan on a date between 1 September last year and 29 January this year, at an unknown location within the State.

Both men were remanded in custody and will be back before the court again in a week.
