Two ex-NAGP executives charged with company law offences

Two former senior executives of the National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP) have appeared in court charged with company law offences.

The former NAGP chairman, Dr Andrew Jordan, with an address at Templeogue Road in Dublin, has been charged with one count of fraudulent trading and two counts of failing to keep adequate accounting records.

The association’s former chief executive officer, 57-year-old Christopher Goodey, with an address at Graigue, Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick has also been charged with one count of fraudulent trading and two counts of failing to keep adequate accounting records.

The offences are alleged to have occurred over a three-and-a-half year period between January 2016 and June 2019.

The charges arise from an investigation by the Corporate Enforcement Authority.

Both men appeared before the Dublin District Court this morning and were served with a book of evidence.

They were sent forward for trial to the higher Dublin Circuit Court where the penalties upon conviction are more severe.

Both men were remanded on continuing bail to an upcoming sitting of the Dublin Circuit Court 16 May 2024.
