Three injured in PSNI vehicle collision

The PSNI has said two police officers and a member of the public were injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Fathom Road in Newry yesterday.

In a statement they said that shortly before 7.30pm a police vehicle, which was responding to a separate incident, collided with another vehicle in the Fathom Road area.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene and initial first aid was provided.

The three were transported to hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

It said an investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened.
