A 17-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle on the N17 in Co Mayo last night.

The teenager was a pedestrian on a stretch of road adjacent to where three members of a family – Úna Bowden and her two daughters, Ciara and Saorise – died last Tuesday.

The road in the townland of Barnacarroll, about eight kilometres north of Claremorris, has been closed off and local diversions are in place.
