A jury at the Central Criminal Court in Cork has found a teenager guilty of the manslaughter of a 29-year old man at a housing estate in Carrigaline in December 2022.
The verdict was returned on the 13th day of the trial of 19-year old Jordan Deasy, with an address of Ravensdale, Heron’s Wood, in Carrigaline.
He had pleaded not guilty to the murder of Matt O’Neill, at Glenwood Estate in Carrigaline, on 28 December 2022.
The verdict came after the jury had been deliberating for 14 hours and 47 minutes.
The jury will resume deliberations on Monday in the case of Jordan Deasy’s co-accused, 21-year old Ricardo Hoey, of Ardcarrig, Carrigaline, Cork.
Mr Hoey pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr O’Neill at the beginning of his trial.
