A man in his late teens has been arrested at Shannon Airport after a woman in her 20s was assaulted on a flight from Glasgow to Tenerife.
The plane was forced to divert to Shannon where gardaí boarded the plane.
Gardaí were alerted to a disturbance on the flight shortly after 5.30pm yesterday.
The man arrested is being held at a garda station in Co Clare.
