Status Yellow snow warnings issued for several counties



Status Yellow snow and ice warnings have been issued for several counties, with Mét Eireann forecasting “wintry outbreaks”.

A Status Yellow snow-ice warning for Cavan, Monaghan and Connacht wil lcome into place at 2am tomorrow morning.

The forecaster said that a band of rain will turn increasingly to sleet and snow while the wanring is in place.

Mét Eireann added that there may be ice on untreated surfaces, hazardous driving conditions, travel disruption and poor visibility.

The warning will expire at 6pm tomorrow evening. A separate Status Yellow snow-ice warning for Donegal will come into effect at 11am tomorrow morning and will end at

The UK Met Office has also issued a Yellow snow warning for Northern Ireland.

It says that a period of snowfall could bring some disruption tomorrow and into Friday morning.

This warning will be in place from 6am tomorrow to 6am Friday morning.

Mét Eireann says that tomorrow will begin “cloudy and breezy with wintry outbreaks, bringing some further sleet and snow in places”.
