President Michael D Higgins has been taken to hospital.
According to a source at Áras an Uachtaráin, the President felt unwell earlier in the day, and was assessed by a medical team at the Áras.
The source told RTÉ News that the initial exam did not show anything wrong, but that the President was brought to the hospital for a number of tests.
