Over 1,200 people conferred with Irish citizenship



More than 1,200 people have been conferred with Irish citizenship at ceremonies in Dublin.

Two ceremonies were held at the National Concert Hall today and there were emotional and joyous scenes as Ireland’s newest citizens stepped out onto the streets of the capital.

“It fills my heart with pride,” Maria Garcia from Ecuador said, adding that the ceremonies show “how inclusive Ireland is becoming.”

Dmitri Pintea from Moldova said coming to Ireland was “the best decision of my life.”
