Radio presenter Niall Boylan is to contest the European election in the Dublin constituency for Independent Ireland.
The Classic Hits presenter announced he was stepping down from his radio show to run in the election.
He was replaced on tonight’s show by Gareth O’Callaghan.
Mr Boylan previously worked for Dublin’s 98fm and Dublin’s 104fm, joining Classic Hits in 2011.
