Man remanded in custody over alleged abduction in Laois



A 40-year-old man from Co Laois has been further remanded in custody in relation to the alleged abduction of a woman in the county last month.

Patrick Horan, with an address at Graigue in Mountmellick, was charged with the offence of harassment causing serious concern or distress, which allegedly took place at Eyne, Mountmellick on 26 April.

He appeared at Portlaoise District Court by video link from Cloverhill Prison.

Mr Horan’s Solicitor Barry Fitzgerald told Judge Andrew Cody that Mr Horan was consenting to be remanded in custody until 10 June.

He also said that in the meantime Mr Horan would be making an application for bail to the High Court.
