Man arrested following shooting incident in Limerick



A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick city earlier today.

The incident happened in the Ballincurra Weston area of the city this afternoon.

A man in his 30s was seriously injured during the incident, and is currently in a serious but stable condition in University Hospital Limerick.

The scene has been sealed off, where a technical examination is under way, and gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact them at Roxboro Road Garda Station on 061 21 4340.

Gardaí have asked anyone who may have been in the Hyde Avenue, Crecora Avenue and Ballinacurra Weston areas of the city between 4pm and 4.45pm and who may have camera footage to come forward.
