Gardaí have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a man’s body was discovered in Kilcock in Co Kildare.
The man in his 40s appears to have died violently at an apartment on School Street in the village and may have been stabbed.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the State Pathologists Office has been informed
The man in custody was arrested at the scene and is being detained at a garda station in Kildare.
He can be detained for up to 24 hours.
An incident room has been established and a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed.
It is understood that detectives are not looking for anyone else at this time.
