Man, 40s, dies after single car crash in Co Kerry



A man has died following a single car crash in Co Kerry last night.

The man, aged in his 40s, died after the vehicle he was driving overturned on the road at Aulaneduff in Abbeydorney at around 9.15pm.

His body, which remains at the scene, will be removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry for a post-mortem examination in due course, gardaí said.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was injured in the crash and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry where her injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

The road at Aulaneduff, Abbeydorney, is currently closed pending a technical examination of the scene by garda forensic collision investigators later this morning.

Traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí at Tralee Garda Station are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to the collision to contact them.

Any road users who were in the area between 9pm and 9.30pm last night and who may have camera footage, including dash cam, is asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
