Man, 20s, dies following road collision in Co Galway

A man in his 20s has been killed after the quadbike he was driving collided with a tractor and trailer, in south county Galway this afternoon.

The incident happened at Derrybrien south, around 16 kilometres east of the town of Gort.

Emergency services were notified at around 1:15pm.

The road where the incident occurred has been closed to allow for a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Anyone with camera footage from the vicinity of Gort, Loughrea and Derrybrien this afternoon, between 12.15pm and 1.15pm, is asked to make it available to gardaí.
