Senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri has been killed in an Israeli drone strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs of Dahiyeh, three security sources have told Reuters.
Saleh al-Arouri was a senior official in Hamas’s politburo but was known to be deeply involved in its military affairs.
In response to questions from Reuters, the Israeli military said it does not respond to reports in the foreign media.
Lebanese state media said four people were killed in the strike.
“Four people were martyred and a number of others injured when the Hamas office was targeted,” in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a stronghold of the Iran-backed Hezbollah, Lebanon’s National News Agency said.
