Girl injured in Dublin attack to ‘relearn everything’

The family of a five-year-old girl, who was seriously injured in the Parnell Square attack in Dublin in November, has posted an update on her recovery.

Writing on a GoFundMe page that has raised over €60,000 for the girl and her family, her mother said “our darling girl has now entered the 3rd phase of her recovery”.

“This will be the longest as she will relearn everything as a result of her injury.”

She said her daughter had “done really well thus far and the medical team is very happy with her improvement”.

“Once again, she is so strong and we are proud to be by her side supporting her, guiding her, and, above all, loving her every step of the way.”

The child was one of three children who were injured in the stabbing outside Coláiste Mhuire on Parnell Square East on 23 November.

A woman in her 30s, who was acting as a carer, was also injured in the attack.
