Girl, 15, dies after two-car crash in Co Tipperary



A 15-year-old girl has died following a two-car crash in Co Tipperary.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at around 6.45pm after the crash on the R503 at Rearcross.

The girl was a passenger in one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was removed to the mortuary at Limerick University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Three other people travelling in the car, a man in his 20s, a woman in her 20s and a girl aged in her mid-teens were taken to Limerick University Hospital.

A woman who was driving the second car was also taken to hospital.

All of their injures are not deemed life-threatening.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Additionally, anyone with camera footage (including dashcam) from the area at the time is requested to provide it to Gardaí.
