Four Brigids on what their name means to them

On St Brigid’s Day, four Brigids have shared what their name means to them.

Ranging in age from 11 to 37, each Brigid – or Bridget in one case – has a special connection to Ireland’s matron saint.

The group were gathered at the launch of Brigit 2024: Dublin City Celebrating Women, a five-day celebration of the Celtic goddess Brigit, who embodies – among other things – inspiration, healing and wisdom. The programme of events runs from Thursday 1 February until the bank holiday Monday.
