Farmer “lucky to be alive” after being trampled
Mick O’Dea says he is lucky to be alive, after being trampled on by a bull in 2019. He sustained life-threatening injuries and spent ten weeks in a coma after the incident.
Mick said: “He came up behind me, struck me from behind, got me down on the floor of the lorry, got down on top of me with his head and his legs, and I passed out after I think about the second or third belt.”
The Health and Safety Authority has urged farmers to be vigilant against the risk of being injured during the calving season.
