Court grants 72 hour extension for €32.8m drug arrests

Two men arrested in connection with a €32.8 million drugs find in Cork have had their time in custody extended by 72 hours at a special sitting of the District Court in Kerry.
Gardaí seized 546kg of a drug, believed to be crystal meth, at the port of Cork.
The men, aged in their 40s, were arrested in connection with the seizure and are being held at a garda station in the southern region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
The court heard that the existing detention did not expire until 10.30am tomorrow.
A 72 hour extension was granted in the case of both men for a further 72 hours.
