An agreement has been reached to reopen Tara Mines after nine months in care and maintenance.
The deal was reached overnight following talks between unions and management at the Workplace Relations Commission on Monday and yesterday.
It is understood the agreement involves a gradual reopening of the zinc mine.
It is expected that the full terms of the deal will be put to workers at a general meeting next week.
