U2 bassist Adam Clayton has announced that he has “amicably divorced” from Brazilian lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho.
The pair were married for ten years and have a daughter.
In a statement to RTÉ, a spokesperson for the musician said: “After more than ten years of marriage, musician Adam Clayton and lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have amicably divorced.
“Both will continue to be fully involved in the care of their daughter and they request that the family’s privacy be respected.”
The pair were married in Dublin in September 2013 followed by a ceremony days later in France.
Their daughter Alba arrived in July 2017 with the announcement in The Irish Times: “Adam and Mariana Clayton are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Alba.”
Clayton was a founding member of U2 in 1976.
