A woman has died following a road crash in Co Waterford last night.
The single-car collision happened at about 10.15pm in the Quillia area outside Tramore.
Gardaí have confirmed that a woman in her 20s suffered fatal injuries in the incident.
Her body was removed from the scene and brought to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem is expected to take place later.
The R685 at Quillia is currently closed and local diversions are in place to allow a technical examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators.
The road is expected to be restricted for a number of hours and all road users, particularly HGV drivers, have been advised to use alternative routes.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and have asked anyone with camera footage from the scene, including dash-cam footage, from between 10pm and 10.20pm last night, to make it available.
