A woman has died following a three-vehicle collision on the N17 near the Galway-Mayo border this morning.
The crash involving a van and two cars took place between the villages of Ballindine and Milltown shortly after 10am.
Helicopters from the Irish Coast Guard and the Air Corps were at the scene a short time later along with a number of ambulances.
Gardaí say the road will remain closed for some time and there are diversions in place.
