Patrick Kielty promises to kick New Year’s celebrations off with a bang and a star-studded studio line-up, with plenty of surprises and familiar faces for what promises to be a fun night.
Guests include Midge Ure, Maverick Sabre, Wheatus, The Tumbling Paddies, Niamh Kavanagh, Gearóid Farrelly, Allie Sherlock, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Carl Mullan, Winnie Ama and Camille O’Sullivan.
It’s followed at 11.45pm by the New Year’s Eve Countdown Concert.
Fresh from handing over from The Late Late bash in Studio 4, Anna Geary will ring in the New Year at Dublin Castle for a Countdown Concert featuring Picture This (above).

Here’s a feature-length special recreating the magic and mystery of the music of Dolores Keane and the Keane family, drawing from the deep and rich well of music that lies within the walls of the original family home of Carragh Cottage.
The cottage is where Dolores’ aunts Rita and Sarah Keane lived, a place where Dolores was raised and learned her wealth of amazing folk songs.
Many well-known singers visited Rita and Sarah to learn from them and it was always a ceilí house and this programme brings together, under one roof, an eclectic collection of Ireland’s most famous folk artists, all of whom have a genuine connection to Dolores.
The Graham Norton Show, 10.25pm New Year’s Eve, BBC One
In his traditional New Year’s Eve show, Graham Norton takes a look back at some of the most memorable stories, people and events of 2023, with the help of a star-filled sofa.
Graham is joined by Hollywood stars Emma Stone (above) and Mark Ruffalo, starring together in black comedy Poor Things, as well as Strictly host Claudia Winkleman, returning in a new run of hit show The Traitors.
There’s also comedy great Rob Brydon, who is currently on tour with A Night of Songs and Laughter.
There’s music from one of this year’s standout bands, the Mercury Prize-winning Ezra Collective, who perform Victory Dance, and end-of-the-year stories in the world-famous Big Red Chair.
Rick Astley Rocks New Year’s Eve, 11.30pm New Year’s Eve, BBC One
Celebrated pop legend and star of 2023 Rick Astley is joined by some very special guests for a spectacular show at the iconic Camden Roundhouse in London.
Singing and playing his global hits and some surprise tunes, Rick will be joined on stage by some very special guests, with performances that will bring down the house and ring in the brand new year.
The show breaks at midnight for the London fireworks, but returns at 12.10am.
Jools’ Annual Hootenanny, 11.30pm New Year’s Eve, BBC Two
Jools Holland hosts his annual Hootenanny, which now enters its fourth decade as it began in 1993.
Together with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, he sees in 2024 with a host of musical guests performing songs from 2023 and across the decades for the ultimate New Year’s Eve party.
This year, he is joined by Rod Stewart, RAYE, Olivia Dean, Paul Jones, PP Arnold, Joss Stone, Sugababes, The Mary Wallopers, as well as perennial guests Ruby Turner and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards.
