Warmest day of the year so far with 26.5C recorded

Today has been the warmest day of the year so far, Met Éireann has confirmed, with the mercury in the Phoenix Park in Dublin hitting 26.7C.
The forecaster said that spells of warm sunshine developed after early morning cloud thinned and broke in many areas.
It will stay mild and humid overnight with temperatures not falling below 11-15C as scattered outbreaks rain and drizzle spread from the west, along with patches of mist and fog.
It will be cooler tomorrow with temperatures of 16-21C.
The previous warmest day came last month when temperatures rose to a high of 24C, also in the Phoenix Park.
