Two men killed in Co Limerick road crash



Two young men have died and two others have been injured in a road crash in Co Limerick.

The car the men were travelling in crashed into a wall on the N69 at Ballyengland at around 7.25pm yesterday.

The men, one aged in his 20s and one in his late teens, were passengers in the car.

Their bodies have been removed to University Hospital Limerick.

Their deaths bring to 31 the number of people who have died on Irish roads since the beginning of the year.

The driver and another passenger in the car, both men aged in their late teens, were taken to UHL with non-life threatening injuries.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to contact Askeaton Garda Station on 061 601630 or any garda station.
