Three pedestrians injured after car mounts curb in Bray


Three pedestrians were left with minor injuries following a collision involving a car and a works vehicle in Bray, Co Wicklow this afternoon, the impact of which led to the car mounting a footpath.

The incident happened shortly before 2pm on Main Street.

A number of ambulances and fire engines are at the scene, along with gardaí

Two of the pedestrians – women aged in their 60s – were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the car – a woman in her 80s – was also brought to hospital for minor injuries.

A third pedestrian – a woman in her 50s – was treated at the scene.

A forensic examination is being carried out at the scene and traffic diversions are in place

Gardaí said that the driver of the works vehicle did not require immediate medical treatment.

Witnesses are being asked to contact Bray Garda Station on 01 6665300, or any garda station.

Dublin Bus is advising customers that a number of services are being diverted via Dargle Road and the N11 due to the road closure.
