Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for eight counties

A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued for eight counties following a hot spell over the weekend.
The warning for counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath and Wicklow will come into effect at 12pm and is valid until 7.30pm.
Met Éireann has warned of potential hazardous travelling conditions, localised flooding and poor visibility.

It comes after Friday was recorded as being the warmest day of the year so far, with 24C recorded as the highest temperature.
The Phoenix Park in Dublin saw a high of 24C, while Mount Dillon recorded a high of 23.7C.
Yesterday saw temperatures as high as 23C.
