Status Orange wind warning issued for tomorrow



Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for most of the country, due to come into effect tomorrow.

The forecaster says that the wind warning for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Monaghan as well as Munster and Connacht will be in place from 5pm tomorrow until 2am on Monday.

A State Orange wind warning will also be in place for Donegal from 5pm tomorrow, and will be in place until 5am on Monday morning.

Met Éireann has warned of difficult driving conditions during the weather warnings, as well as the potential of fallen trees and damage to power lines.

The Road Safety Authority has urged motorists to be careful on the roads on Sunday and Monday due to the wet conditions and near gale force winds.
