Status Orange weather warning issued for Cork and Kerry



Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange weather warning for counties Cork and Kerry over heavy, persistent rain and high winds.

The rain warning will come into effect at noon today and will remain in place until noon tomorrow.

The forecaster said there will be persistent rain which will be heavy at times. The rain will be accompanied by strong onshore winds, high tides, and elevated river levels.

Travel conditions in the region are expected to be difficult as flooding is expected along with wave overtopping.

A Status Yellow rain warning is currently in place for the two counties.

Separately, a Status Yellow rain warning will be in place for Co Waterford from noon today until noon tomorrow.
