There has been a small reduction in the level of hospital overcrowding nationally, compared with yesterday, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
It has put the number of patients waiting for admission to a bed at 646, compared to 667 yesterday.
The hospitals worst affected are University Hospital Limerick with 94 patients waiting and Cork University Hospital with 73 waiting.
The HSE’s Urgent & Emergency Care report puts the overcrowding nationally at 510, of which 371 are emergency department trolleys and 139 are ward trolleys.
