Singer Cara Dillon shot in face with BB gun in UK



Northern Irish singer Cara Dillon has said she is “really shocked” after she was “shot in the face multiple times” with a BB gun in the English town of Frome last Wednesday evening.

In an update on X, Dillon (48), who is from Dungiven in Co Derry, said she was “okay” and urged the public to be careful.

A BB gun is a type of air gun designed to shoot metallic spherical projectiles called BBs.

Ms Dillon, who has released eight albums and won numerous awards, said the pellets were fired from a passing vehicle in Frome, Somerset.

In a post on X, she praised Avon and Somerset Police, who she said had been “great”.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers are investigating two reports of individuals being hit by a suspected BB gun pellet in Bath Street and Rodden Road in Frome.

“Thankfully, we do not believe anyone has been seriously injured or required any medical treatment and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
