Row breaks out between Tánaiste and EU election candidate

A row broke out between the Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin and European candidate Niall Blaney at a press conference in Dublin today.

Mr Blaney accused the party leadership of not giving the “same support” to his campaign.

He added he was “looking for equal treatment”.

He said he had not yet had a TV opportunity in the campaign.

However, Mr Martin rejected the criticism. He said the issue would be discussed after the press conference.
