President Michael D Higgins was among those to vote on proposed changes to the Constitution in Ireland.
President Higgins and his wife Sabina voted at their polling station at St Mary’s Hospital in the Phoenix Park this morning.
It is the first time the President has been seen in public since he was discharged from hospital yesterday.
He was admitted to St James’s Hospital in Dublin last Thursday evening after experiencing a “mild transient weakness”.
After a seven-night stay, the President, 82, returned to his official residence, Aras an Uachtarain, yesterday.
Polls opened at 7am for the twin referendums.
The referendums propose changing the wording of the Constitution relating to the areas of family and care.
