Pop-up shop highlights relationship red flags

A new pop-up shop in Dublin city centre is aiming to challenge young people’s perception of romance and shine a light on relationship red flags.

Women’s Aid, a national organisation supporting women subjected to intimate relationship abuse, opened the shop on Valentine’s Day as part of its ‘Too Into You’ campaign which aims to “teach young women in particular about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships”.

Mary Hayes, who leads the campaign, said they chose Valentine’s Day as “abuse can hide in relationships that appear romantic on the surface”.

“Our hope is that it prompts reflection and discussion about how young people are treated in their intimate relationships,” she said.
