Opinion poll suggests increase in support for Sinn Féin



Sinn Féin has seen an increase in its support, a new opinion poll suggests.

According to the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll, support for the party is at 30%, up two points from last time.

This is in contrast to a drop in support for Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

The poll indicates that support for Fianna Fáil has fallen by 2 points to 17%.

Meanwhile Fine Gael is at 20%, a drop of 1% from the last poll.

According to the research, the Social Democrats party is on 5%, unchanged, with the Green Party and Aontú have also seen no change, remaining at 3%.

Solidarity-People Before Profit and the Labour Party are also on 3%, both down one point from the last poll.

Independents/Others have seen the largest increase in support according to the opinion poll. They are on 17%, up three points.

The poll was conducted on 5 and 6 January with a sample size of 1,270 people and a margin of error of +/- 2.8%.
