Professor Philip Nolan will seek a High Court injunction later today to stop his dismissal from Science Foundation Ireland.
His barrister, Senior Counsel, Padraic Lyons told the court earlier that Professor Nolan was notified on Monday that he was being dismissed from his role as Director General of SFI.
Mr Lyons said he was making an urgent application to the court to hear Professor Nolan’s application for an injunction to restrain his dismissal.
SFI said on Tuesday that Professor Nolan was no longer director general of the research agency and a new acting head had been appointed.
