A new rare disease awareness campaign has been launched in Dublin.
It features 17 individuals who are sharing their stories to promote better understanding of rare diseases in Ireland.
Organisers say the campaign title, ‘I Am Number 17’, reflects the fact that one in 17 people in Ireland will be affected by a rare disease at some point in their lives.
An exhibition of portraits by photographer Julien Behal will be on display from tomorrow at The chq Building in the capital.
