Man sustains gunshot wounds at football match



A male has been shot in the arm during a football match in County Tipperary.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident at a sports venue in Rear Cross, shortly after 9 o’clock, where an adult male participating in a football match under floodlights sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and was then taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for further assessment.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

The scene is preserved for forensic and technical examination and investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

They are particularly appealing to individuals who may have been hunting in the area at the time to come forward.
