A man has been charged with falsely imprisoning a woman who was abducted in Wicklow in the early hours of Tuesday morning and subsequently found by gardaí in Mayo.
The man who is in his 40s is due in court in Bray later this morning.
He is also charged with assault, threats to kill and possession of knives.
An investigation into the incident began after gardaí received a report of a woman being bundled into a van in Arklow in Co Wicklow, at around 2.30am last Tuesday.
The man was arrested after gardaí stopped a Renault van in Mayo that afternoon. The woman was found safe and well.
Gardaí had issued a nationwide alert for the van seeking information on its whereabouts but warning people not to approach it.
