A man in his 20s has died following a crash between a car and a lorry in Co Roscommon.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident on the N61 Athlone Road at Newtown shortly before 10pm last night.
The man, who was driving the car, was brought to Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe where he was later pronounced dead.
The road has been closed with local diversions in place as forensic collision investigators examine the scene.
The local coroner has been notified.
Gardaí have appealed or any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were traveling on the N61 at Newtown at the time of the collision have been asked to make footage available to gardaí.
