A man is in a critical condition following an assault in Cobh, Co Cork on Friday evening.
The man, who is aged in his early 30s, was seriously injured during the course of an assault in a carpark on the Newtown Road at around 8.55pm.
The man was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment and he is currently in a critical condition.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
They have asked for any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling on the Newtown Road between 8:45pm and 9:15pm to make this footage available to gardaíí.
