A 40-year-old man has appeared in court charged with falsely imprisoning a woman who was allegedly abducted in Co Wicklow on Tuesday morning.
Karl O’Reilly, of Higginstown Woods, Granard in Co Longford, appeared at Bray District Court this afternoon in relation to an incident on Tuesday morning
Mr O’Reilly is facing charges of false imprisonment, threats to kill and assault on two occasions against one woman.
Separately, Mr O’Reilly is also charged with two counts of false imprisonment and threats to kill under the same acts involving the same woman on 28 February at his home in Longford.
Defence for Mr O Reilly requested bail.
However, Judge Nicola Andrews refused the request due to the seriousness of the charges and as Mr O’Reilly is a flight risk.
He is due to appear again before Bray District Court via video link on 21 March.
