An infant boy has died from injuries sustained in a road traffic incident in Co Clare this afternoon.
The child was transferred from the scene – a residential part of Quin Road, Ennis – to University Hospital Limerick.
He was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The incident happened shortly before 12.30pm and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support the family.
The scene is preserved pending an examination by forensic collision investigators.
