HSE appoints Executive Officers to Health Regions
The HSE has appointed six Regional Executive Officers (REOs) for the new Health Regions.
The salary of around €257,000 is linked to the pay for the new public only hospital consultant contract.
Each of the REOs will report to Chief Executive of the HSE Bernard Gloster.
They will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, safe and accessible services for the population of their designated region.
The appointees include Sara Long, REO of HSE Dublin and North East; Martina Queally, REO of HSE Dublin and South East; Kate Killeen White, REO of HSE Dublin and Midlands; Tony Canavan, REO of HSE West and North West; Dr Andy Phillips, REO of HSE South West and Sandra Broderick, REO of HSE Mid West.
Service delivery in the new regions will begin on 1 March.
Devolution of authority to the new Health Regions will take place on a phased basis over this year and the next.
The six Health Regions will replace Hospital Groups (HGs) and Community Healthcare Organisations (CHOs).
The new appointments follow a Public Appointments Service-led process.
