A hard-right Republican politician has launched a bid to oust US House Speaker Mike Johnson, reigniting an intra-party battle between traditional conservatives and supporters of former president Donald Trump.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a representative from Georgia, told reporters she had filed the “motion to vacate” over a government funding deal that Mr Johnson endorsed that she described as a “betrayal of the American people”.
