Convicted murderer Graham Dwyer is suing the Irish Prison Service and the State for damages.
His legal action was lodged yesterday against the Prison Service, the Minister for Justice, Ireland and the Attorney General.
No date has been set for it to come before the courts.
Dwyer was convicted nine years ago, in 2015 of the murder of Elaine O’Hara.
After a lengthy legal battle relating to the retention and accessing of his mobile phone data, which formed part of the evidence against him at his trial, the Supreme Court heard his final appeal against his conviction last month.
A date for the court’s ruling has not yet been set.
Dwyer denies the murder.
